Dashel has managed to bring tailor-made safety and fashionable design under one “helmet”. The bicycle helmets in the Urban line are sustainably produced in England; every component is as durable and recyclable as possible. Five ventilation holes ensure a pleasant breeze while riding and the magnetic closure prevents nasty pinching when closing the helmet. For particularly good visibility, the helmets can also be equipped with a rear light . An optimal fit of the helmets is guaranteed by a precisely adjustable screw cap . When the time comes for a new helmet, Dashel recycles the old one. Until then: Happy Cycling !

Recycling the Dashel helmet: To recycle your old Dashel helmet, you have two options:

1.Send the helmet to the following address in Germany - please mark the outside of the box with “Dashel for Recycling”: NordicSportsConsulting, Dorfstr. 25, 94252 Bayerisch Eisenstein. The company is a contractual partner of Dashel and takes care of proper recycling.

2. Or directly to Dashel UK. In this case, too, please mark the outside of the box with “Dashel for Recycling”. Storage instructions

The best place to store a bicycle helmet is as far away from any heat sources as possible. The reason: Heat, whether from the sun or a heater, can loosen the plastic coating and make the product unusable. So always store the helmet in a place that is as cool, dry and dark as possible.

Care instructions

Regular use of a helmet also comes with dirt. Sweat quickly forms under the bicycle helmet, especially on hot days. In addition, hair and skin particles get stuck on the padding inside the bicycle helmet. This combination causes an unpleasant smell and clearly visible dirt. In principle, a helmet should be thoroughly cleaned twice a year. This prevents bacteria and germs from spreading.

You can wash the outside of the helmet with a cloth, warm water and standard household detergent. Aggressive cleaners should be avoided as they damage the materials. Detergent and water are usually sufficient for the straps of the bicycle helmet.

Usage notice

Like most other products, bicycle helmets are not meant to last forever. Since temperature fluctuations and environmental influences damage the materials over time, the helmet should be replaced after around five years.

After an accident, the bicycle helmet should be discarded immediately. Even if the helmet still looks perfect, it is likely that the foam core has cracked due to the impact. The insulation effect is therefore no longer guaranteed. That's why you should never buy a used helmet if you don't know the exact history of it. Even if a helmet falls from a table or coat rack and hits a hard floor, fine hairline cracks can have a massive impact on the protective effect.

To be on the safe side, you should give your bicycle helmet a thorough check-up several times a year. Pay particular attention to cracks. Cracks are easy to see in most bicycle helmets. If the upper material is torn, replacement is necessary. However, make a clear distinction here between cracks and scratches; the latter only damage the helmet from an aesthetic point of view and do not reduce safety.
